West Sussex Parent Carer Forum are hosting two online sessions for parent carers in West Sussex to come and share their feedback about CAMHS, (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services). The sessions will be facilitated by representatives from the CAMHS participation team.
CAMHS will be there to listen to your experiences and ask for your opinion about the creation of a parent carer participation group, (for example, holding regular sessions and drop-ins where CAMHS representatives will be available to chat with parent carers).
The purpose of the sessions is to identify the key themes from your experiences and how these may shape the format and topics for the new parent carer group. At the moment, the CAMHS participation team are still working out the best way to establish meaningful and long-term engagement with SEND families. They know that there are lots of things which aren’t working as well as they should, and this is why they’d like to hear from you. The CAMHS representatives at these first sessions will not be clinicians or managers and therefore won’t be able to answer questions about individual cases. However, where there are clearly recurring themes or questions, the CAMHS reps will try to answer these in the session or provide follow-up afterwards.
Both the morning and evening sessions are the same but have been made available to give as many parent carers as possible the opportunity to participate.
