SENAT are offering schools an EHCNA Request Consultation Service.
This is free and open to all West Sussex SENCos, Inclusion Leaders, Teachers in Charge of SSCs and Senior Leaders from Nurseries through to
Colleges. The consultation can be tailored to your needs. The conversation may cover the
following areas:
• general guidance regarding completing an EHCNA request
• discussion about the child or young person
• reasons for making a request
• evidence formed over time
• the graduated approach and completion of cycles of Assess, Plan, Do,
Review
• timing of potential request
• provision maps
• outside agency involvement
• what panel will be looking for
• Ordinarily Available Inclusive Practice, information on the local offer and
guidance and criteria for requests
